Faith and Thankfulness

"When you have set your face to go after God, He will disturb your peace. And if you're willing to follow Him, the voice will come and the voice will mess up your materialistic dreams, the security of your home. He will send you on circuitous paths that you don't understand; people will not understand you. You'll have to make decisions to leave the familiar to go to a land that is totally unknown. But if you take the risk, you'll find that God is on the other side of that still small voice telling you to step out into the world of crazy."

~Lou Engle

A friend posted this quote on FB a few weeks ago. As soon as I read it, I thought, "Wow, hello to my life!

"Two and a half years ago, the idea of the life we lead overseas would have been my nightmare. In fact, when I first felt the Lord asking us to move overseas, I literally had this feeling of dread at the pit of my stomach for months, so much so, that I was not willing to share this with ANYONE except my husband for fear that it would come true. I was so scared of the unknown, and I was scared of living even further from my extended family and everything familiar.

I was thinking about this the other day when I was worshipping (playing the piano and singing to Him). My heart was full of gratitude thinking about how the Lord made a way for our family to come here. Our life is far from perfect, but we have a such good life. I am so thankful for the peace in our family. I am so thankful for an awesome, loving husband. I am grateful for my 5, beautiful and healthy kids. I am thankful that our apartment is full of love, heat, and food. We have amazing friends that live all around the world. What more could a woman want? I am so blessed.I am so thankful for this journey that the Lord has brought us on.

He really does know what He is doing and we are all so blessed for it!
