Did I ever tell you how much I love weddings? I have been to so many different weddings at this point in my life, but I still do not tire of them. I love marriage! Yes I have been to a gazillion weddings, but I still love looking at the beautiful brides, weeping grooms, bridesmaids dresses, centerpieces, wedding favors, and invitations! I love it all!

Looking through my social media feeds, it is obvious that wedding season is in full swing. The pictures are all gorgeous! My husband and I have had the privilege to pre-marital counsel several different couples over the years, and this is one little piece of advice I always give the new bride before the big day! Enjoy every second of your day because it will fly by in a blink!

No matter how well any couple prepares, it is inevitable that something could go wrong. Whether it's stressful family members or guests, the decor going wrong, the cake being not quite what you expected, guest seating gone awry...something will not go quite as planned, but it DOES NOT have to ruin your day. Your attitude is what has the potential to ruin your day. The most important thing about that day is that you are joining into a life long covenant with your love, before God and others.

I remember going to one outdoor wedding many years ago. It was pouring rain that day and there was no plan B to have the wedding inside. When I say pouring, I am not exaggerating...it was REALLY wet. All the guests were huddled under the covered areas to try to keep dry. I heard that a friend quickly bought umbrellas and during the ceremony the groomsmen walked the bridesmaids down the aisle holding the matching umbrellas. The wind was blowing a lot, so the unity candle kept blowing out and the officiant had to keep re-lighting it. But do you know what? It was one of the most awesome and memorable weddings I have ever attended because the bride and groom were so joyful. They were thrilled to be starting their new life together. They could have sat there feeling so sorry for themselves because of the stormy weather, but instead they chose to celebrate. It was such a beautiful sight to see them so in love, relishing in their special day. If you are about to be a bride and your wedding day is approaching, I encourage you to determine in your heart to enjoy every single second of one of the best days of your life and soak in everything about it! You will not regret it!❤️
